I was blessed to be able to found Overbay Insurance Services in 2010 with my mother, Stacy. My parents had the good fortune to serve the people of Western North Carolina for 26 years through their State Farm agency. Following my father's passing, we sought to continue his legacy of service through our independent agency, Overbay Insurance Services. In the digital age of phone trees and automated self-service, we seek to help restore community by providing excellent insurance solutions along with superior service. It is our goal to not only provide our insureds with an informative, transparent process, but to leave them walking taller and smiling brighter following their agency experience.

Regarding my personal interests, growing up in the mountains I developed a passion for activities such as backpacking, camping, mountain biking and snow skiing. In 2003 I earned my degree in political science with a minor in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2011 I was blessed to marry the love of my life, Catherine . We have five wonderful children that keep us busy with the glorious chaos that comes from a large family. Sticking with our theme of service and building community, I am privileged to serve as president of my children's elementary school PTA, and as Chair of the Haywood Community College Foundation Board. Past service includes being a founding member of the Young Professionals of Haywood through our local Chamber of Commerce. While my ability to donate time is finite, I further seek to support the local community through charitable giving. The agency financially supports numerous local charities and outreach programs such as the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, Haywood Community College, Pathways, Haywood County Schools, Haywood Christian Ministries, and several churches and faith-based organizations through monthly giving and sponsorships. 

I have been in the insurance business, serving my friends and neighbors in Western North Carolina, for more than twenty-six years. I am a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. I am the mother of three children. Andy, my oldest, is a retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force. Allison is an attorney with Mullins, Duncan, Harrell and Russell in Greensboro, North Carolina. My youngest, Jon, is my business partner. I also have eight wonderful grandchildren. I am a Rotarian, and past president of my club. I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce, where I serve as an Ambassador. I am a former board member of the Haywood County Schools Foundation, a former PTO president, and I currently serve on the board of There Is More Ministries. In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my family, socializing with friends, gardening and exercising.

I joined Stacy in the insurance business in 2005, and have enjoyed working with her and the extended client family since that time. I am married and the mother of two wonderful children. I am a life-long resident of Haywood County, and I have a deep love for the members of this community. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and gardening.

I have been in the insurance industry for approximately 23 years, including 18 with Nationwide Insurance. I was born in Jackson County but moved to Waynesville at a young age and have lived here since that time. I have been married 30 years and have a beautiful grown daughter who lives in Fayetteville, NC. My hobbies include traveling, good food, and gardening.
